A hole can be seen in the egg. The chick hatched.

18:24: The pip in the egg increases more and more, the chick can be heard very well. (And fish is deposited within reach, just in case ...)

The long period without cover the egg had no influence on the time of hatching, (2 hours 39 minutes was the longest)

Rasene is sleeping

starts preening herself

6:14 Akacis landed on the nest tree. Rasene starts calling - Akacis is on the right and is calling too
6:15 still calling


She stands up and is squealing softly


6:15:50 she flew away

6:16 The little is almost out of egg shell
6:16:14 little one is moving and winging. Backside is in the eggshell
