Good morning and thank you Polly and IceAge! :hi:

Looks like 'Smiley' on the nest from 08:11-08:35. She removes some snow, pokes a little in the bowl and mainly watches the surroundings, she is attentive, but relatively relaxed. She came from the right branch into the nest.
I checked the tailmarks at 08:34, when she turns around to perch on the p-branch, and they looked pretty much 'Smiley'-like to me.

15:27:11: A ringed male WTE soars in high, coming from the right and settling directly on the nest, not the p-branch.
Could be E 340, I didn't manage to identify the ring number.

Snuggles in at 15:31, even closing his eyes:

Stays until 15:39, 15:38: ->p-branch, leaves heading straight to the woods, vanishing at position 1 o'clock.
Edit: I suspect them to have an alternative nest in that sector/or beyond.

No traces of nest attendance by whom so ever.

:hi:
Yeah, but it's cold and no wind and since eagles are lazy and then have to flap their wings they just skip that day

7:47 Distant drumming duel by two white-backed woodpeckers :D
8:02 nearer but not typical, lesser spotted- heard two days ago
8:20 black woodpecker calling

No owls heard this night either just irritating dogs :puzzled: they are in full swing at home (north of here and same weather, ok on the other side of the lake..)

Good morning!

More snow and no traces of eagle activity. -
Are WTEs in Estonia a little 'behind' their conspecifics in other Baltic regions ? Are they active (regarding nest preparation and other eagle pair business) outside our cam view? I think they are, simply because I cannot imagine that they manage their hormones in a different manner than other WTEs. :puzzled: :dunno: - I find the area very very quiet, I would have at least expected some floaters and/or juveniles passing by and exploring (and checking to what degree such a nice nest site is owned and defended.) - But, as we know from the past season: this might change very suddenly. So, still "open end". (I guess you call this 'purposeful optimism' )

Someone was on the nest and on the p-branch, must have happened yesterday, when the cam was off.

Image

Educated guess: Could have been one of the territory owners, since the nest was not entirely inspected and searched through.

Thank you RP  from the YT-chat for the time stamp of this :
06:52 f.: Eagle duet, middle distance (at one point, it even sounded as if one of the singers was in flight).

- Cam stops at around 12:15. mike still works.

Good morning Matsalu, tere hommikust!

06:58: Eagle calls, two voices.
07:07: And again. This time a little longer. They do not seem to be very far away (something like: "five trees from here", if you get what I mean). A raven's voice could be heard before.

07:15: Majesties on board!
E 340 on p-branch first, then hopping into the nest, followed by 'Smiley', who is tenderly nipping at his trousers. :headroll:

Image

07:19: E 340 leaves first, followed by 'Smiley' 1 minute later.
07:20. The 'buzzard' is a fake-buzzard, it's a jay.
