Hi Swenja! :hi:

I'm amazed by how well Kuremari's transmitter seems to be working. IIRC it's leg-mounted, isn't it? I was of the impression that these are ofter rather shaky.

Hello @Hulbi Lorm :hi:

I also believe that leg rings are not very resilient. But on the other hand, I am grateful that we have the data.
I'm curious to see if Kuremari returns to the place she was last year.

edit: But the photos in Birdmap show a back transmitter. I think Urmas has replaced the transmitter.

I made a mistake there, and so I decided to edit this comment more heavily than usual:

Trauma moved 10 km (not 2) since yesterday, so that's not unsual. And while it's always cause for concern to see one of our birds on a pylon, after looking at the aftermath of Karl II's and Alvar's accidents, I guess it's probably a good sign that Trauma's tracking so far only shows straight lines and no erratic lines around the pylon.

Looking at the surrounding area, I can also imagine she found enough food in that creek so she didn't have to fly far, and may just have chosen the pylon as a resting place.

So I have hope that all is okay with Trauma.

(Sorry to anyone who read the original comment. Maybe nobody did, as the forum seems to have some issues at the moment. )

I think everything is ok with Trauma. The update shows that Trauma is taking a break and looking for food.

It is right that we always remember that something can happen to the black storks at any time.
But because of the heated situation in Europe and the Middle East, I think first of all of the falsification of the tracker signals.

Thanks for the reassurance, Swenja!

I misread the data first and thought she had only flown 2 km, and seeing a final data point above an electricity pylon on top of that made me REALLY worried after those prior accidents.

Hi everyone! :hi:

Luckily, the forum is back after the short outage, and it seems to be running smoothly for the moment.

It was a calm day for our storks. I only hope that today's update will show Trauma in an area that is friendlier to my nerves.
