Liz, thank you for continuing to provide such great information! :2thumbsup:

On my daily forays I found this tip from @Ina Jaunošāne very delightful:

This livestream seems to be closely linked to the livestream of the Golden Eagle's nest.
I followed the Tip and indeed the shadows of the visits can be seen.
I am a little surprised that I have never seen anything like calls or flying eagles there. Because I often look there in the hope of seeing jackals or wolves, but sometimes the timing is just 'not on point'. :D

I hope my information is correct. If not, please correct me.

Many thanks @Ina!

Hi Liz,
I hope you are well prepared (safe). I didn't record because I saw you in the chat. It was good for me to know you were there.

February 21st

Good evening @all!
Good evening, Watchers! The pillow with Grísli has not disappeared anywhere, it is even there in the swamp alone. Regarding the future - currently the time of the live broadcast is short, because the batteries installed in 2017 have served their life and do not have the necessary capacity. We received the new batteries today, we plan to take them to the swamp with a snowmobile and sled on Tuesday. Please post a screenshot every day from the live broadcast at 07:00-08:00 so that we can see the changes in the nest.
In the last days of March, we will also plant two systems of small eagles.
Fingers crossed and greetings to all!

Good morning @sova and great that you took the time. :2thumbsup:

Looks like there's a solid intention to breed coming up.
Spilve & Grīslis are already very active.

Uģis Bergmanis wrote in the chat:
Ligzdā ir bijuši ērgļi, par to liecina izmaiņas zaru novietojumā starp rīta cēlienu un pusdienas laiku

There have been eagles in the nest, as evidenced by the changes in the position of the branches between the morning and noon hours

that's minimal I would say? He's right

Hello Liz, it is actually difficult to follow.
Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to look into it in detail at the moment.
The nest looks excellently prepared to me. It had been prepared for a long time and the pair was seen together. There is actually little doubt that there is an intention to breed?
Well, crows also take branches from nests. We have seen that enough.

It is not clear proof. Still...

It would be interesting to take a look at the second nest. Last season, it was not visited by golden eagles. Should it be chosen this year? Probably not, right?

Too much work has been done here for that.

Thanks Liz! :2thumbsup:

March 3rd

Nothing is moving. Nothing worth mentioning. Only the grass has moved, which could also have blown away.
