Not today they won't - wind is so strong any landing eagle would need an arrestor hook like on aircraft carriers.

I haven't given up. But I'm starting to think why they don't "hold" the nest.
At least one or both should check the nest now and then. It's really unusual that both of them stay away now.

I do wonder if this nest is in a less-than-ideal location. We see far fewer "stranger" eagles here than in the case of Durbe, and here the nest seems potentially "available". Unless our pair are defending their territory successfully here but now have alternative, preferred nest in the vicinity. Still, one would expect to see them on patrol.
